Mamiya has announced the Mamiya 645AFDIII. The Mamiya 645AFDIII camera ushers in higher levels of performance with
digital backs and lenses. Primarily the 645AFDIII's intercommunication protocol MSCE (Mamiya Serial Communication for External) has been updated to increase data transfer speed and reliability between
digital back and camera body.
The new AF motor makes auto focusing faster and quieter. The focus point is now user-selectable being positioned to either the center, right or left side of the screen.
An auto setting allows the camera to select the focus point.
For film users the AFDIII with HM402 Film Back achieves a winding speed of 2 frames per second compared to of 1.2fps with Film back HM401
on the AFDII. Data printing on the film edge now includes focal length of the lens. This in addition to exposure mode, aperture value, shutter speed, exposure compensation, bracket setting, meter mode.
The 645AFDIII can accept rechargeable nickel-metal hydride AA batteries, alkaline and lithium AA batteries. 2nd curtain flash synchronization has been added.
The 645AFDIII has an open platform format which allows the use of digital backs from other makers.

The new Mamiya Sekor AF 80mm f/2.8D
lens is switchable between autofocus and manual focus by pulling the focus ring backwards or forwards. The new D range lenses come equipped with a 16bit CPU to allow future firmware upgrading and faster communication between the lens body.
The black plastic lens barrel cover of the old Sekor AF 80mm f/2.8 has been upgraded to a cover made of turned aluminum coated with black alumite giving the lens a better appearance and texture. For
film users the new AFDIII when combined with the new HM402 Film Back achieves winding speeds of 2 frames per second versus 1.2 frames per second AFDII with HM401. Data printing along the film edge will now
include lens type In addition to exposure mode, aperture value, shutter speed, exposure compensation, bracketing and meter mode. 2nd curtain flash synchronization is now an option on the AFDIII. As well
rechargeable nickel-metal hydride AA batteries can be used in addition to the alkaline or lithium AA batteries. The Mamiya 645AFDII allows the use of digital backs from other makers

The new Mamiya Sekor Macro MF 120mm f/4 D Lens
replaces the old Mamiya Macro MF 120mm f/4 Lens. The new lens features a rewritable 16-bit CPU (versus the previous 4-bit CPU) thus allowing future firmware upgrades. When used with Mamiya's Digital Photostudio Software the larger CPU will processs more data faster thus allowing fine tuning and corrections tailored to the focal design of the lens in use.
The Mamiya Sekor D series have redesigned optics that direct light onto the digital sensor at a more ideal angle for digital photography. The resolving power of these new lenses meets the
requirements of high megapixel sensors and exceeds the capabilities and standards required for film use.

Mamiya Lens adapters for Hasselblad Lenses Mamiya has developed two Lens Mount Adapters that allow the operation of
Hasselblad V-series medium format lenses on Mamiya 645AFD, 645AFDII and 645AFDIII cameras. How does it work? First focus with the Hasselblad lens wide open using the cameras focus confirmation
assistance then stop-down for metered exposure readings. The camera will operate in shutter priority, aperture priority or manual metering modes. The adapters come in black (#404) or silver (#405).

Mamiya AF 28mm f/4.5 D Aspherical
The 28mm f4.5 D is a full-frame, ultrawide lens that utilizes the latest aspheric lens technology to produce high
resolution and large image circle coverage for film and digital backs. Since wide angle lenses can cause color shift problems with digital backs (due to the extreme angle at which light rays hit the sensor),
the Mamiya 28mm f/4.5 D has been designed to direct light rays so that they are parallel when they hit the sensor – producing maximum sharpness, color accuracy and contrast.
Unlike conventionally
designed digital lenses, the 28mm f/4.5 Sekor D Aspherical was designed with the requirement that it works with digital and film systems. It is the world's first 28mm medium format lens with this capability.
The Mamiya Sekor AF 28mm f/4.5 D is ideal for a wide range of applications, including commercial, architectural and outdoor photography.
Specifications AF 28mm f/4.5 D Aspherical Lens Construction: 14 elements/10 groups Angle of View 102° Film, 94° with ZD Back Aperture Range f/4.5 ~ 32
Minimum Focus: 1.15 ft. (0.35m) Equivalent 35mm Focal Length 17mm, 20mm with ZD Back Built-in Lens Hood Dimensions (L x W) 5.35 x 3.54" (136 x 90mm) Weight 1.9 lbs. (886g)

Mamiya ZDb Digital 'Double Buffer' Back Debuts at Photokina 2008
Cologne, Germany – September 19, 2008 – Mamiya Digital Imaging has announced the next model
of their digital back – called the Mamiya ZDb 22 megapixel Digital Back – will be shown at Photokina 2008. To further refine the successful Mamiya ZD Digital Back system, the R&D team at Mamiya has developed the new
ZDb Digital Back with several useful enhancements.
To allow longer shooting sessions, the ZDb will have a buffer with up to twice the memory of the original ZD Digital Back – this means that you can continuously
shoot up to 22 frames of full resolution RAW files before the buffer is full. The new back is now compatible with SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards that can store up to 32 gigabytes of images. The Mamiya ZDb
Digital Back can also use SD, SDHC, CF I and CF II cards.
When used with the new Mamiya 645AFDIII, the ZDb Back will display the camera's 35 custom function controls on the LCD panel. This will make custom camera
settings fast and user-friendly. In addition, a beta version of the new Mamiya Remote Capture software will soon be downloadable from our homepage, www.mamiya.com. This software makes shooting tethered with the Mamiya
ZDb Back faster and easier.
Boasting a 22 mega pixel Dalsa CCD sensor at an affordable price, the ZDb Digital Back allows the Mamiya 645AFDII, Mamiya 645AFDIII, RZ67Pro-IID and RB67Pro-SD to take razor-sharp
digital images - transforming professional quality film cameras into high-end digital systems.

Mamiya Remote Capture for Tethered Operation with Mamiya ZD Digital Backs
Mamiya has introduced their new capture software for use with Mamiya ZD digital camera systems.
Mamiya Remote Capture can be used with the Mamiya ZD or Mamiya ZD Digital Back via the 1394 Firewire cable for
shooting in tethered mode. Since Mamiya Raw files (.mef) can be opened by major processing software, such as Phase One's Capture One 4.1, Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom, etc., Mamiya Remote Capture saves images from the ZD
Digital back directly to a computer's hard drive. This gives the user the option to process files with their own choice of software.
Mamiya Remote Capture provides seamless shooting and control of the camera and
back via the computer keyboard or mouse, or by controls on the camera body. The Mamiya Remote Capture beta version will be launched on the 17th of September 2008, and can be downloaded from our homepage,
www.mamiya.com.
